Some students need assistance outside of the classroom and BC offers several instructional labs on campus to help students succeed in their studies. The largest is the Academic Success Center (D Building, room 204), houses the Reading, Writing, Math and Tutorial labs.

Reading Lab
The Reading Lab is a class with the objective to help you sharpen reading skills, particularly reading comprehension, speed, and vocabulary.
- If you are enrolled in pre-college reading / writing classes (061/062, 071-074, 089) or in English 106, you will be automatically registered for 2 credits in the lab.
- You can also register as an independent (non class-linked) student for 1 or 2 credits under English 080 or 180 (a higher-level, graded course).

Writing Lab
The Writing Lab tutors students to help them improve their writing. There are drop-in sessions available, but making and appointment will assure you of a time slot. Sessions last 20 minutes, Tutors will help you with any writing project, including:
- class assignments
- college applications
- resumes
- personal projects
