  • 2008 – Students approve Student Environmental Sustainability Fund

  • 2006  – ASG position for Environmental and Social Responsibility Created
  • 2000 – Earthweek launches a week of lectures, demonstrations, and more on sustainability and science.
  • 1997 – Sustainability and Science Association Formed

Climate Action

Bellevue College is a signatory to the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment to strive towards carbon neutrality.  We update our greenhouse gas audit annual and are working on a climate action plan.

Energy and Water Conservation

Bellevue College closely monitors energy and water consumption, matches HVAC and lighting equipment schedules to building occupancy and maintains procedures to promote conservation.

Transportation Choices

Bellevue College manages parking and offers alternatives to driving to promote sustainable learning, working and living environment.

Waste Reduction and Sustainable Food

Earth Week

Every year, Bellevue College, with help from Sustainability and the SSA, put on a weeks worth of events to celebrate Earth Day. These events can include lectures, movies, and forums regarding sustainability and environmental issues. The topic for 2013 is Climate Change.
