The Bellevue College Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) was established in 2007 to advise campus constituencies regarding environmental and sustainable policies and programs on the BC campus. We strive to provide resources to the campus and community that allow us all to learn, work, live and play in a sustainable and healthy environment. Purpose
The Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) provides a forum for identification and discussion of issues pertaining to environmental sustainability and impact. The Committee also assists in identifying resources for effectively addressing issues and concerns.
Tasks
- Review and recommend policies and procedures related to campus environmental impact, and environmental education,
- Serve as an advisory board for President’s Staff and any campus constituencies with questions on environmental practice.
- Review and make recommendations regarding the College’s sustainability practices.
- Provide leadership in response the campus environmental issues.
- Promote environmental awareness.
- Provide recommendations for addressing environmental issues and concerns.
- Submit an annual report of activities and accomplishments to the President’s Office prior to the close of each academic year.
Membership
- Chair –committee member selected by the committee
- Two (2) administrators, including VP of Administrative Services or designee and one other appointed by President’s Staff
- Three (3) faculty members recommended by the BCCAHE President
- Two (2) classified staff members recommended by Bargaining Unit A, and one (1) classified staff member recommended by Bargaining Unit B.
- Three (3) students, including ASG Environmental Representative and two (2) students appointed by the Sustainabilty and Science Association.
- The Faculty Advisor to the Student Science Association Program.
