Applications and nominations

Bellevue College Board of Trustees invites nominations and applications for the position of President.

Bellevue College is a public, open admissions college located in King County, WA serving more than 38,000 students with over 1,561 faculty and staff.  The College has grown to become the third largest institution of higher learning in the state, and has emerged as an educational leader, known nationally for its innovations.  With continued plans to expand its four-year degree programs, the College changed its name from Bellevue Community College to Bellevue College in 2009.  The College meets the needs of students and employers by offering bachelor’s degrees, transfer associate degrees, professional/technical degrees and certificates, non-transfer (general studies) associate degrees, and online degrees and certificates.  Bellevue also has the largest continuing education program in the state, reaching over 11,000 students per year and 22,000 enrollments.

The President reports directly to the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the leadership, day-to-day administration, resource development, and oversight of Bellevue College.  The ideal candidate should possess progressively responsible experience in higher education administration or other extraordinary leadership experience at a large complex organization.  This candidate also should have an appropriate combination of education, training, and experience that includes extensive expertise in program and curriculum development, fundraising, government relations and legislative processes, accreditation processes, and budget and fiscal management.  A doctorate degree is preferred; however, the College will consider an appropriate terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution.

The College will accept confidential applications and nominations until the position is filled. Candidate screening will begin immediately. For best consideration, applications and nominations should be provided by August 27, 2012.  An application should include a letter describing relevant experiences and interest in the position, a resume, the names of at least seven references with titles, addresses, business telephone numbers and e-mail addresses and a candidate summary sheet.
