Announcement of Presidential Finalists

October 15th, 2012

After an extensive national search, the Bellevue College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that there are four presidential finalists.  A rich pool of candidates was recruited from throughout the state, region and nation. Your contribution to the many accomplishments at BC was instrumental in recruiting these top caliber candidates.

The board would like to take this opportunity to thank the Presidential Search Advisory Committee:  Doug Brown, Takhmina Dzhuraeva, Ross Hunter, Glenn Jackson, Sarah Langton, Earl Overstreet II, and Jennifer Prekeges for their dedication, commitment, and hard work on behalf of Bellevue College.

Each presidential finalist will participate in a public forum at the College. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend the open public forums.  The public forum sessions are open to administration, faculty, staff, students and the general public.  There will be a brief introduction of each candidate, followed by a short presentation, and a question and answer session.  Comment forms will be given to all who attend and the completed comment forms will be collected immediately after each session and given to Bellevue College Board of Trustees for review.

In addition to the open public forum and to give multiple opportunities for input, there will also be a student forum, faculty forum and an opportunity for the candidates to meet with faculty union leadership.  Candidates’ complete schedules and meeting locations will be distributed later this week.
