Pay per print for students begins January 2013

Starting January 2, 2013, student printing on campus changes to a new “pay per print” model.  This change applies to all student printing from computers students access in labs and classrooms.

How it works

  • When you log in to any campus computer, you’ll find a beginning printing budget balance of $15.00 (see example)
  • You’ll start each quarter with a $15.00 credit which you’ve already paid for as part of your Student Technology Fee.
  • Each print you make will cost $.10 and will be deducted from your starting balance.
  • If you need additional prints, you may purchase additional credits at the Open Lab (N250)
  • Your allocated printing balance expires at the end of each quarter and does not rollover to the next quarter and is not transferable.

Payment options for additional credits

Payments for additional credits may be made in the Open Lab (N250). Payments are only accepted in the form of cash (coins and bills). At this time, the Open Lab can not accept pennies and cannot provide change.

Why the change?

Student printing is a resource paid for by the Student Technology Fee and the new practice of limiting printing to no more than 150 prints per student per quarter reduces the need to increase student technology fees and assures there are funds available for other student technology needs. This practice is also in line with the other efforts being made across campus to reduce our college’s environmental footprint and provide students the information they need to make responsible choices.
