Faculty and Staff Are Not Only BC Employees, They Are BCF Donors Too!

Foundation donors are the reason we are able to make a real and profound impact on the lives of students, faculty and staff. Many of our donors are employees too!

We’d like you to introduce you to Rose Pugh who started working as the Math Lab Director and Math instructor at BC in the fall of 1988. Twenty-two years later she retired from the Math Lab and moved into full-time teaching. Rose has been an active participant in the BC community, serving on the All College Council and General Education Audit Review committees in addition to helping high-risk students succeed in Beginning Algebra. In 2007 she was awarded the BC Foundation’s Margin of Excellence Award for her accomplishments at BC.

Rose is also a supporter of the Foundation! When asked why she donates to the Foundation she said:

By donating to the BC Foundation, I have had the opportunity to support a number of amazing programs. I have given to the Math, Reading, and Writing Labs to assist in acquiring equipment and supplies for which there was no college funding. I also gave to the ELC because as a person who has experienced firsthand the difficulties of returning to college as an adult juggling college classes, marriage, and a job, I felt that access to quality, affordable child-care would be a great asset to many of our students. I continue to donate to the BC Foundation because the Foundation supports so many outstanding programs that assist a variety of BC students.

Employees like Rose are one reason Bellevue College is successful. The partnership between employees and the BC Foundation enables us to help break down the financial barriers that so many students face. Thank you to Rose and the rest of the Bellevue College faculty and staff for your dedication, hard work and financial support of BC and BC Foundation.
