Will I immediately start working towards my degree?
No. CEO students begin their college career by taking CEO introductory courses.  These introductory courses offered through BC are designed to prepare you for the college-level classes. Remember, college classes are tougher than high school, and we want you to succeed.

How long will I take CEO classes?
You will be enrolled in CEO classes (CEO I, CEO 2, CEO 3, and CEO 4) your first 4 quarters at BC. During CEO 2, CEO 3, and CEO 4 you may be enrolled in additional classes such as English or beginning level classes for your degree program.

When do CEO classes meet?
CEO I (your first quarter) is a 15 credit class that you must commit to for the entire quarter. It meets Monday through Thursday with the following options of meeting times:

      • Morning: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (Option 1)
      • Afternoon: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Option 2)
      • Evening: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Option 3)

CEO 2, CEO 3, and CEO 4 class times and dates change each quarter.  You will want to make sure that you have a flexible schedule outside of school to incorporate this change. Please keep in mind that these schedules are subject to change.

What will be Covered in CEO courses?
All CEO classes will focus on the tools that are needed for college success. For example, during CEO 1 you will learn the following:

          • Career exploration and planning
          • Resources available on the BC campus
          • Test taking skills and time management
          • Life skills
          • Critical thinking and decision making
          • Community involvement and civic responsibility
          • Career skills, resume building, and interviewing tips
          • Fundamental computer skills
          • Effective communication skills

How is CEO different than High School?
CEO is very different than High School. The program provides students with a second chance at their education in a college environment. Both attendance and behavioral expectations are high. We expect our students to be mature and motivated.

Will I get my high school diploma or GED while I’m enrolled in CEO?
No. CEO is designed to provide students with an opportunity to work towards a college certificate or AA transfer degree from Bellevue College in a select professional-technical program.  However, if you  do receive an AA degree you may apply for your high school diploma at the age of 21. Students who wish to complete the GED may enroll in the GED program at the college, but need to understand it is not a part of the CEO program.

What can I get my degree or certificate in while enrolled in CEO?
CEO students work towards certificates or degrees in one of the many professional-technical programs offered at BC. These degrees are designed to prepare you to enter the workforce. Check out the options!
