INTERNSHIP PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
Currently enrolled in college with at least a Junior level status or higher with plans to return to school in the following term (not eligible for this program if already graduated).
GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
Full-time commitment of 40 hours a week for 10 weeks from June-August, 2013.
Perform duties related to establishing target pH values/ranges for buffers, solutions, and diluents under varying temperatures. Work will be performed under the immediate direction of the Commercial Support Manager, including but not limited to buffer preparation, pH measurement, summarizing/reporting results, and creating redline of draft documents. Apply knowledge of regulatory requirements (cGMP, FDA and ISO) through following current SOP’s and good documentation practices.
Coursework in Life Science or related field or equivalent work experience that would provide knowledge in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry or Microbiology. Typically, 0 to 2 years experience in a general laboratory environment performing analyses in the areas of Chemistry, Biochemistry or other associated areas of life sciences. Possess a basic knowledge of typical laboratory apparatus, basic computer knowledge and a variety of software applications. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Requires basic communication skills. Periodic contacts with other departments or individuals outside of the organization that require giving or obtaining routine information related to work being done. Requires tact and cooperative relationships.
